Thrift Re-Shoves, Hits Full House to Eliminate Opponent

A late position player open-shoved a stack of 7,000 and the small blind flat-called. Robert Thrift in the big blind then re-shoved and the small blind folded after voicing his annoyance.
"You're really gonna push me out, huh?" the player said.

Thrift was ahead with eights and the flop came 
to improve him to a set. His opponent hit the rail after the runout of 
improved thrift further to a full house and someone at the table pointed out that the small blind could've lost more if Thrift hadn't re-raised.
"Yeah, I'm glad he did that. Could've won a lot more if ya played it right," the opponent grumbled.
