Day 1b Action

Day 1b attracted 121 runners to outpace yesterday's field of 76 by a significant margin. A few of the players who were in the field early but didn't survive to bag include Moose David Hughes, Brenda Miller, Matthew Sundberg, Gregory Salem and Gloria Jackson.

A notable hand took place early in the day when Pete Miller and Charles Clement flopped the same house, with both players holding ace-nine as the flop came {9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Someone calculate the odds of that one. Unfortunately for both players, neither of them were able to advance to Day 2.

Ben Scrogins played late into the day hoping to join Mroczkowski in bagging both Day 1a and 1b, but he was eliminated before the end of play. Mroczkowski, meanwhile, said he plans on playing Day 1c in an effort to bag three times.

All players will be in the money and become "mystery bounties" on Day 2 on Sunday, with a $50,000 bounty up for grabs.

Day 1c will kick off Saturday at noon local time and follow the same structure as the first two flights. Stay tuned as PokerNews will be on-site and ready to report on the Day 1c action.

Miller and Clement Flop the Same Full House

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

In a three-way pot on a board reading {9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, Pete Miller fired a bet of 800 and Charles Clement check-called, while the player in between the folded.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and both players checked. Clement then led out for 2,500 on the {j-Diamonds} river and his opponent raised to 7,000. Clement then re-raised all-in and his opponent quickly called.

"Did you hit the jack?" Clement asked before turning over {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flopped full house.

Miller had not hit the jack and, incredibly, showed {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the same flopped boat as his opponent. The two players shared a laugh about the hand, but neither were probably too happy about splitting the pot after flopping such monsters.

The second starting flight of the $1,680 NLH Main Event at the 2022 bestbet Jacksonville Spring Series is about to get underway and will kick off Friday at noon ET.

The $1,680 buy-in tournament features the ever-popular mystery bounties, giving players a chance to peel for riches as they bust their opponents. While the mystery bounty component won't kick in until players reach Day 2, every player who does reach the second day of play will become a "mystery bounty" themselves.

Day 1b players will begin with a starting stack of 25,000 chips with blinds of 100/200 and levels lasting 40 minutes in duration. The tournament will have a 15-minute break every three levels and there will be a one-hour dinner break after Level 9.

Like Day 1a, the second starting flight will play until approximately 12.5% of the field remains or at the tournament director's discretion.

Day 1c will commence Saturday at noon. Day 2 on Sunday will play to a winner, who will earn the lion's share of the prize pool and the championship trophy. The final table action will be live-streamed by bestbetLIVE on Twitch, Youtube and Facebook.

Only ten of 76 players made it to the end of Day 1a, including chip leader Timothy Pollard, who bagged a stack of 296,000, as well as George Shenoda (269,000), Lonaisi Charles (222,000), Ben Scrogins (193,000), Edward Mroczkowski (187,000) and others.

Winners so far at the bestbet Jacksonville Spring Series include Mary Darnell, Warren Teal, Norma Rosin, Tanner David and Lucas Tae.

Stay tuned as PokerNews is on-site and ready to report on the Main Event action.
