Slay Balances Out His Luck

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Kelley Slay called the PokerNews team over to talk about an interesting hand.

Slay raised to 1,000 from early position and a player in the next seat over called. The rest of the table got out of the way and the flop was {j-}{4-}{3-} with one diamond. Slay bet 1,100 on the flop and his opponent called.

The turn was {2-Diamonds} and Slay continued for 4,000. His opponent called and the river was {10-Diamonds}.

Slay checked the river and his opponent bet 12,000. Slay called with {2-}{2-} for a set of deuces, but his opponent had {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to take the pot with a flush.

A short time later, Slay was heads-up with another opponent at the table. The flop was {7-}{j-}{8-} and his opponent fired 4,400. Slay shoved for around 15,000 and his opponent called while he turned over {k-}{8-}. Slay had {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the flopped straight. The turn was {2-} and the river came {6-} to secure the straight and the double for Slay.

Autrey Finds an Early Double

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was heads-up with around 10,000 in the pot and {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} on the board when Neil Autrey was all in from the button for 8,200. An opponent in middle position was the one to put him at risk.

Neil Autrey: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Middle Position: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The turn was {7-Spades} and the river {k-Diamonds}, which was more than enough for Autrey to secure the early double.

Level 5 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Min Zhang
Min Zhang

Min Zhang raised to 400 and Kelley Slay three-bet to 1,600. The rest of the table got out of the way and Zhang called.

The flop was {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Zhang check-called when Slay bet 2,500 and the turn was {3-Hearts}.

Both players checked the turn and the {8-Diamonds} river.

"I don't think I can win this one," Slay remarked.

Zhang turned over {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} for jacks and eights.

"I definitely can't win this one," he continued as he mucked the losing hand.
