Maxwell Young
Maxwell Young

Russell Quick opened to 60,000 in middle position with {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and got three-bet to 165,000 by Justin Macella with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} in the small blind.

Maxwell Young woke up with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} in the big blind and four-bet to 400,000. Quick folded, but Macella quickly moved all in for 1,380,000 effective.

Young called it off and had the chip leader dominated for a potential double-up.

The dealer fanned a flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}, bringing Macella a flush draw. He wouldn't have to wait long to complete his flush as the {8-Hearts} fell on the turn, followed by the {6-Hearts} on the river.

The pot significantly extended Macella's chip lead while sending Young to the rail in 8th place.

Bryce McVay
Bryce McVay

After Bryce McVay put 200,000 of his final 315,000 chips forward from middle position, Aftab Patni moved all in for 605,000 from the small blind.

Justin Macella folded {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} in the big blind and McVay committed the rest of his chips in as bad a shape as he could be in.

Bryce McVay: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Aftab Patni: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

McVay already had an inferior pair, but his chances of making a set were gone with Macella folding the other two nines.

The board came {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}, ending McVay's day in 9th place.
