Paul Hoefer raised to 150,000 from the button with {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Noel Rodriguez defended from the big blind with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} to give Hoefer top two while giving Rodriguez flush and straight draws. Rodriguez checked and called a bet of 125,000 from Hoefer.

Benji Felson
Benji Felson

Noel Rodriguez opened to 175,000 on the button with {a-Spades}{5-Spades} and Benji Felson three-bet jammed a stack of 1,050,000 from the small blind with {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Rodriguez called with a bigger stack.

Felson was in great shape to double and did so as the board came out {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} to improve him to a set while giving Rodriguez a meaningless pair of aces.

Joe Kuether
Joe Kuether

Joe Kuether opened to 150,000 holding {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and the action folded to Paul Hoefer in the big blind, who three-bet jammed a stack of 1,200,000 with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Kuether called with a slightly bigger stack.

Hoefer's queens stayed ahead as the board ran out {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to leave Kuether with crumbs.

The next hand, Noel Rodriguez opened to 200,000 with {a-Spades}{9-Hearts} and called when Kuether three-bet jammed from the big blind with {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

The flop of {5-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} gave Rodriguez the lead with a pair of aces but Kuether had hope with a gutshot to Broadway. Unfortunately for him, the board bricked out {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and he was eliminated in sixth place.
