Level 19
: Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Four players went to a flop of J♦8♣6♦ when a player under the gun bet 75,000. Jason Simone then raised to 175,000 in middle position. Willard Hunt folded in the small blind, while Piyush Mittal then moved all in for 310,000 in the big blind.
The under-the-gun player tanked for several minutes before folding. "What a disaster I put myself in," Simone said as he also took a minute, but he eventually called to put Mittal at risk.
Piyush Mittal: K♦10♦
Jason Simone: A♥J♥
Simone was ahead with top pair against Mittal's flush draw, and the J♠ turn and J♣ river improved him to quads for the knockout.
"Two hands in, he was down to 2,000 chips," another tablemate said as Simone moved up to around 1,000,000.
