Fishman Spikes an Ace to Double

Level 32 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Baruch Fishman jammed for 5,250,000 from the button and William Shaw confirmed the count before calling from the big blind.

"I hope it's a race," Fishman pleaded as the cards were tabled.

Baruch Fishman: A♦5♥ All in
William Shaw: 10♥10♦

It was indeed not a race, but it did not matter for Fishman on the A♣8♣4♠ flop as he paired his ace. Nothing changed on the K♣3♥ runout, and he secured the double.

At the same time on the other table, Changfeng Fan was all in for 5,000,000 from the hijack and up against William Shaw in the cutoff. Fan had A♠7♣, but he was dominated by Shaw's A♦K♥ and couldn't come from behind as he was eliminated in 11th place.

"Are you John?" Michael Mann asked Malvasio.

"Are you John?" Mann continued to John Malczan, and finally John Wilson right beside him as the three Johns share a corner of the table.

Adam Calabrese

John Malczan opened to 1,500,000 under the gun and found one caller in Adam Calabrese from middle position.

On the A♠Q♦2♣ flop, Malczan led for 1,500,000 and Calabrese called.

Malczan sized up to 3,500,000 on the 4♦ turn and Calabrese called once again.

On the 2♥ river, Malczan slid a stack of pink T-500,000 chips into the middle to ask for the remainder of Calabrese's 5,100,000 stack. After taking some inventory, Calabrese elected to call after a minute's tank.

Adam Calabrese: A♣9♣ All in
John Malczan: A♥Q♠

Malczan flopped top two pair and Calabrese could not get away from his ace after the board pair river, and his run came to an end in 16th.

"River Rat" Fan Doubles

Level 31 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Thomas Yarbrough opened to 1,250,000 from the cutoff before Changfeng Fan jammed for 3,500,000 from the button, and Yarbrough called.

Changfeng Fan: A♥K♥ All in
Thomas Yarbrough: 6♠6♦

It was a coinflip scenario as the J♥9♦2♣ flop kept the sixes in the lead. Fan got up from his seat on the 8♦ turn, but he sat right back down on the A♣ river as he found a miracle river to double.
