The Ol' One Card Shove Trick

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

After peering down to see the prettiest card in the deck - the {a-Spades} - a short-stacked Al Nugent made his move with an open-shove for 11,800.

A lone caller looked him up with {7-}{7-}, and when he did Nugent announced that made a "one-card shove" - tabling the aforementioned {a-Spades} before flipping up a fairly strong companion in the {10-Spades}.

The two headed off to the races and Nugent sprinted out to the lead when the flop fell {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The race ended soon afterward when the turn ({a-Clubs}) and river ({a-Hearts}) filled Nugent up, and he doubled through late in the day to keep himself in contention.
