A Shot of Jack

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Joe McKeehen
Joe McKeehen

Joe McKeehen risked his last 15,800 with a preflop shove, but his {K-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} was badly behind the {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} tabled by the lone caller.

The final board rolled out {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades} though, giving McKeehen two pair and the double.

On one of the very next deals, however, McKeehen held {A-}{8-} against {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} in another preflop all-in confrontation, but a {7-} rained down on the flop to move him right back where he started.

Filippi Falls

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Amnon Filippi
Amnon Filippi

Amnon Filippi moved his last 8,300 into the middle, coming over the top of Eugene Z. (this is yet another player who would prefer to remain anonymous).

Eugene had opened to 2,500 and he quickly called the pro's all-in three-bet with {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Filippi tabled the {k-Spades}{10-Hearts} to find himself trailing, and when an ace hit the board he was drawing drawing dead.

Big Pairs Everywhere

Level 9 : 400/800, 75 ante
Tom Dobrilovic
Tom Dobrilovic

Tom Dobrilovic came by the PokerNews Live Reporting area and told us of a hand that sent him to the rail. Apparently, three players were all in pre-flop and one player folded {K-}{K-}. "There was crazy action," said Dobrilovic who also had {K-}{K-}. The other two players had {A-}{A-} and {Q-}{Q-}.

Of course the Queens won, but the player with Aces did at least win a good sized 45,000 side pot that eliminated Dobrilovic.
