Madsen Flush With Chips

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

We get to the action with 160,000 in the pot and both Jeff Madsen and Michael Cohen checking the {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} board. The river was the {6-Hearts} and Cohen checked to Madsen who made a bet of 71,700. Cohen made the call and mucked when he saw that Madsen had hit the flush with his {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Emad Alabsi Eliminated in 16th Place ($1,862)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Emad Alabsi
Emad Alabsi

Justin Young started things off with a raise to 10,500 and Emad Alabsi raised it 50,000 more. It was folded back to Young, and knowing Alabsi was committed, he moved all in and was quickly called by Alabsi.

Young had the goods with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and Alabsi could only shake his head, knowing he was likely going to be eliminated soon, as he turned over {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Alabsi would get some hope when the board came {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} but the {2-Clubs} on the river would crush that dream.

"Plays itself," said Young after the hand.

Ruslan Allakhveranov Eliminated in 17th Place ($1,862)

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

It was a race between Ruslan Allakhveranov and Bob Hwang with Allakhveranov holding {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Hwang having {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Hwang would flop a set on a {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and the turn and river were the {Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs} to give Hwang the pot and eliminate Ruslan Allakhveranov in 17th place. Hwang is off to a good start to the day - he started with 140,000 in chips and is at 475,000 now.

Justin Adams Eliminated in 18th Place ($1,862)

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Alex Rocha opened the action pre-flop for 8,000 and Justin Adams re-raised out of the big blind to 28,000. After querying Adams and how much he had behind, Rocha made the call.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Adams led out for 28,000.

"Do you have any more blues?" Rocha asked Adams.

"No."

Rocha thought for a moment and then slid out a call.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Adams moved all in and was snap-called by Rocha who had set the trap with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. Adams had {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and would need a miracle Jack on the river to stay alive. The river blanked out and Adams is our first in-the-money elimination. Rocha moves north of 300,000 in chips with that pot.

Action Bob Bursts Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

In what might have been the quickest bubble in poker history, Bob Hwang has eliminated Greg Jensen when the two got it all in on a {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop with Jensen holding an {A-}{K-} that was crushed by Hwang's flopped set as he had {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. The turn would be the {2-Spades} and the river was the {9-Spades}. Hwang had Jensen covered by 5,000 in chips to eliminate him one spot shy of the money. They are now combining to three tables.

Three Eliminated Quickly

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Just like that we are on the bubble as we've had three players eliminated in the last few minutes. We didn't catch the action for the elimination's of Jacob Perry and Joseph Stiers but we did see a disappointed Sean Wallace walk out of the room after he moved all in with {8-}{8-} and would be called by Kevin Saul who held {10-}{10-}.

Wallace would take the lead on a {J-}{9-}{8-} flop but a {7-} on the river would give Saul a straight and eliminate Wallace in the process.

Matt Iles Doubles Through Sean Wallace

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Kevin Saul opened under the gun to 8,300 and Sean Wallace re-raised to 19,000. It was folded to Matt Iles in the small blind who moved all in for 57,300. Saul folded and Wallace shrugged and made the call with {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and probably wishes he had not as Iles had {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}.

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} to give Iles the double up.
