Things Getting Tighter

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

The chips are suddenly even after Zo Karim first folded to a five bet from Tam Minh Nguyen and then doubled up Steve Goose when Goose's {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} would hit a straight on a {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} board to best Karim's {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Goose would jump out of his chair, yell "YES!" and then point out the five cards that made his winning hand by saying "seven, eight, nine, ten, jack". He would later apologize to Karim, who sat there taking it all in. "It's all good," said Karim. "Do what you have to do."

Stan Annis

A short stacked Stan Annis moved all in with {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and was looked up by Tam Minh Nguyen who held {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Annis would be eliminated in 4th place when the board ran out {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Players are on a quick ten minute break. Here are the current chip counts:

Tam Minh Nguyen Doubles Up Twice In a Row

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Tam Minh Nguyen has doubled up twice, both times courtesy of Zo Karim. The first time was when Nguyen would hit a set with {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to best Karim's {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The second hand saw Nguyen come from behind when his {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} would go up against Karim's {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} but would hit a flush on the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board to move from almost out to second in chips with 425,000. Karim is still sitting comfortably in the lead with 2.05 million chips.

Steve Goose Wins Big Pot to Cripple Tam Minh Nguyen

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

With 240,000 in the pot already and the board showing {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Tam Minh Nguyen bet 80,000. Steve Goose thought for about 30 seconds and made the call with {J-Diamonds}{Td] for a rivered two pair, Queens and Jacks. That was good enough to take the pot as Nguyen was bluffing with {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Goose wanted to give a shout out to his wife Taryn and daughter Peyton after winning the pot!

Nguyen Doubles Up Through Karim

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Tam Minh Nguyen got the last of his 121,000 chips in with {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and was racing against Zo Karim's {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The board would run out {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} to put a straight on the board but Nguyen's Jack would give him a better straight and the double up. Karim is still way ahead of the other three in chips as we play four handed.

Dan Heimiller Eliminated in 5th Place ($2,398)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Dan Heimiller
Dan Heimiller

After losing a good chunk of his stack when his {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} was outdrawn by Steve Goose and his {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Heimiller would get the last of his chips in with {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}. It was bad timing on his part as Zo Karim had {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Heimiller was eliminated in 5th place.
