Aaron Massey in Event 14 (Heads-Up NLHE) at the 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open
Aaron Massey in Event 14 (Heads-Up NLHE) at the 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open

As a true poker nomad, travelling the nation via Greyhound bus or flying above the great blue yonder, Aaron Massey has made a few friends along the way. So while he took down a recent pot against Michael Shklover, Massey filled in a familiar dealer across the table about his latest journey - involving Choctaw, Oklahoma for the recent WSOP Circuit event, Atlantic City for the Borgata Winter Poker Open, and the crown seat of Southern poker, Tunica, Mississipi.

Massey bet the {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop and Shklover came along to take the {3-Clubs} on the turn. Both players tapped the table and the {q-Spades} completed the board on the river.

When both players checked once more, Shklover tabled king high, but his hand went into the muck when Massey revealed {k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a turned pair of threes.

As he dragged the pot his way to get off and running at yet another stop along the circuit, Massey continued telling his story in more than ways than one.

Anderson Outruns Hwang

Andy Hwang and Mike Anderson got it all in before the flop.

Hwang: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Anderson: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop meant Hwang didn't want to see a set, and the turn brought a {2-Spades}. An {a-Diamonds} river gave Anderson the pot, but Hwang had his opponent well-covered. Hwang now has about 10,000, while Anderson has 30,000.

Players can no longer register for the heads-up event.

The tournament director just announced that registration is closed for the $1,500+150 heads-up event, as each of the 64 (not 128, as we were erroneously told earlier) spots has been filled.

Play begins in 15 minutes, and each player will start with 20,000. Levels will last 20 minutes, and stacks will reset for each match. Play will begin today and end tomorrow.
