Musumeci Throws a Curveball

A player in early position raised to 50,000, and Amanda Musumeci called from his immediate left, and the next player called as well. Everyone else folded.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and the first two players checked. The last player fired 85,000, and the original raiser folded. Musumeci made the call. The turn brought an {a-Diamonds}, and Musumeci bet out 40,000. Her opponent squinted and made a puzzled face, clearly taken aback by the tiny bet. After about 30 seconds, he leaned back and sighed, flicking his cards into the middle.

Brown Halfway to a Million

Chad Brown called a middle-position raise to 36,000 from the button, and the blinds folded. Both players checked the {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, and the {7-Spades} arrived on the turn. After his opponent checked, Brown bet 35,000. The middle-position player called. A {k-Diamonds} fell on the river, and Brown went with a considerably larger bet: 100,000. The middle-position player tanked for a couple of minutes before calling, and Brown showed him {4-}{4-} for a full house.

Heimiller Scoops Four-Way All in

Dan Heimiller's QQ held up four-handed.
Dan Heimiller's QQ held up four-handed.

Dan Heimiller limped under the gun with the blinds at 6,000-12,000, and the next player pushed all in for 155,000. Action folded to the cutoff, who moved all in for less, and the small blind followed suit. After the big blind folded, Heimiller called off his 151,000 stack.

Early position: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Heimiller: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Small blind: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Things were looking good for Heimiller since his opponents had shared overcards and a small pair, and the board came down {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. The early-position player stayed alive with less than a big blind, while the small blind is down to a short stack.

Musumeci Breaks the Bubble

Amanda Musumeci busted a short stack.
Amanda Musumeci busted a short stack.

Amanda Musumeci raised to 20,000 from under the gun, and action folded to the small blind. After a lengthy tank during which he asked what would happen if he busted during the hand-for-hand, a player called the clock. Musumeci and others at the table tried explaining to the player that stalling would do nothing if he busted with less chips than another player, but the player insisted on waiting until the end of the clock to fold. The big blind immediately pushed all in, and Musumeci called.

Musumeci: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Big blind: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, giving nothing to both players. A {q-Diamonds} turn brought some extra outs for the big blind, but the river was the {3-Diamonds}, and Musumeci was the hero of short stacks everywhere.

Brown Earns More with QQ

With the blinds at 4,000-8,000 with a 1,000 ante, a player raised to 20,000 in early position. The hijack jammed for 79,500, and Chad Brown shipped all in for about 106,000 from the small blind. The original raiser folded.

Brown: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Hijack: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and ladies were good to Brown for the second time that we've seen.
