In a button vs. small blind confrontation, Barbara Leonardi (sb) got all-in on an 8-high flop holding pocket aces. Julio Clavell (button) had for top pair. Then he caught running cards to make a straight, cracking Leonardi's Aces and sending her to the rail.
That took his stack up to nearly 1.9 million.
Then three-way action to a flop of and Joe Eubanks (bb) checked, Wade Meacham bet 100,000, Clavell called from the cutoff, then Eubanks jammed for almost 400,000. Meacham opted out, but Clavell called.
Eubanks tabled for the flush draw. Clavell was way ahead with for the set, but had to fade all the clubs that didn't pair the board.
The last two cards fell safely and Clavell took the pot, chipping up to nearly 3 million. Start of Day 2 chip leader Joe Eubanks was busted.
