Joe Eubanks Lands the Largest Stack from Day 1a in BFPO Deepest Stack

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Joe Eubanks
Joe Eubanks

The Day 1a flight of Event #10: $300 Deepest Stack has now come to an end after 16 levels of play and the first flight saw 312 entry slips sold, with just 51 remaining by nights end.

When the last chance saloon had closed for business it was Joe Eubanks finding the biggest stack of the night, bagging up 682,000. Eubanks found a fortuitous double early in the day when he bested a pair of cowboys with his ace-queen and he rode that momentum through till the end of the day.

Closest behind the chipleader is Michael Bonita who ran up a stack early in the day, finding very few bumps along the journey as he bagged 579,000, good for second on the leaderboard.

Some other players to find a healthy-sized stack for Day 2 include Raj Desai (478,000), Olamide Otti (444,000), Erwin Fonacier (423,000), Glen Passin (401,000), Frank Funaro (345,000), and Barbara Leonardi (309,000).

The remaining players from this flight will combine with the Day 1b starting flight survivors and will return on Tuesday, November 12 at noon to battle it out on Day 2. Chip counts and seating assignments will be posted before the starting of Day 2.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing all of the live coverage for the remainder of this event, so stay tuned as the action unfolds.

Brady Building

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
James Brady
James Brady

James Brady took 1st place and more than $23,000 in the 2018 Spring Poker Open $400 Monster Stack 40/40 event claiming his first Borgata Hotel replica trophy. That’s not his best live cash, however.

During the 2017 Borgata Poker Open, James made the final table of the Kick-Off event, which saw 3,570 entrants. His 7th place finish in that event was good for $53,410 and that remains his best live cash.

He's off to a strong start in Flight A of the Deepest Stack as they approach the close of registration.

Dobbs Does It Again

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Michael Dobbs
Michael Dobbs

Michael Dobbs won the $300 Deepest Stack NLH post-lim (one-day) event during the Borgata Poker Open back in September, laying claim to the final trophy of that series, along with $16,259 for first place in a heads-up deal.

He also won this event during the 2018 Winter Poker Open, topping a field of 850 entrants in an eight-way chop, good for $28,000. With a total of five Borgata tournament titles, Dobbs ranks sixth for most reported tournament wins at this venue.

He's off to a strong start today in Flight A, already up to ~185,000.

All In The Family

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Joe Cappuccio
Joe Cappuccio

One of the many familiar faces in Flight A today is that of Joe Cappuccio, who also happens to be the spouse of Defending Champion Katie Stone. If she plays this event, it will be Flight B later today.

Last Fall, the Cappuccio family had a strong showing during the 2018 Fall Poker Open. Cappuccio got heads-up in the $560 Deepstack Kick-Off NLH event, chopping for $128,358 — his best live cash. Stone then conquered the $300 Deepest Stack NLH event, taking home another $19,337 for the family bankroll.

This Fall, Stone was first to the money, finishing 9th in the $500K GTD Kick-Off for $13,212. That means it's Cappuccio's turn to cash in the Deepest Stack, right?

We'll find out tomorrow if the family can bring home another BFPO cash and possibly make a run at a title defense in this event.

Last November during the 2018 Borgata Fall Poker Open, the Deepest Stack NLH event saw a total of 745 entrants total between both starting flights and of those, 160 advanced to Day 2. The final 72 got paid and after about 11 hours of play on Day 2, the final six players opted for an adjusted payout agreement and divided the remaining prize pool equally. BorgataPoker.com sponsored pro Katie Stone took first place and $19,337.

She's already seen one final table during this series. In the $500,000 GTD Kick-Off Event #3: $600 Deepstack NLH, she went out 9th earning $13,212.
