Robert Brobyn Finds Biggest Stack on Day 1b in BFPO Championship

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Robert Brobyn
Robert Brobyn

The second flight of Event #17: $2,700 Championship has now come to an end after eight exhilarating levels of play. A total of 98 entry slips were sold, with just 43 remaining by the end of the night and of those it was Robert Brobyn finding the largest stack.

Brobyn floated above average for most of the day and slowly built himself a relevant stack towards the end of the night. He took that stack and almost doubled it during the last 20-minutes of the day when he turned a nut-flush against his opponents flopped two pair. That hand catapulted him over the 200,000 mark first of anyone in this flight and he ended up finishing with 210,100, which was good for the lead.

Anna Antimony went on a heater late in the day, almost surpassing Brobyn for the lead as she bagged 209,000, giving her a stack that is second overall so far after two flights. Other notable stacks that advanced include Chris Coward (171,800), Peter Walsworth (169,800), Joseph Gambino (163,000), and John Lytle (159,500).

Many familiar faces secured a Day 2 birth and that list includes the likes of Andrew Ostapchenko (152,600), Justin Adams (146,200), Gilberto Taveras-Garcia (137,400), Ryan Eriquezzo (71,200), Kenny Huynh (69,900), and Alex Jim (38,100).

The survivors from this flight will combine with the two other Day 1 players that and will be returning on Tuesday, November 19 to fight it out for another eight levels of play, ending after level 16. The tournament will bump the blinds up to 75-minutes in length after level 10 and the last two days will have 90-minute levels.

That wraps it up for the PokerNews live coverage of Day 1b, but tune in tomorrow for Day 1c.
