Koneru Sits Down, Doubles Through Eskandar

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Avinash Koneru moved to a new table and on the first hand he was faced with a four-bet shove from Patrick Eskandar. Koneru called for his remaining 1,910,000 and the two tabled their hands with Koneru at risk.

Avinash Koneru: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Patrick Eskandar: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

The board came down {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Eskandar flopped a set of aces but he was not in the clear as Koneru had a flush draw. The {7-Clubs} peeled of on the turn, hitting the flush for Koneru who now took the lead. A {2-Diamonds} completed the board and Koneru pulled in the pot, finding a full double through Eskandar during his first hand at the table.

Le Felts Eskandar

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jimmy Le tossed in a bet of 575,000, then Patrick Eskandar moved in for about 2 million. Le counted out the call and obliged, saying he meant to only limp, but confused the 500,000 chip for a smaller denomination. In any case, he considered himself pot committed.

His {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} was in trouble against Eskandar's {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Le was calling for a "King!"

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} improving Eskandar to a set, but then the {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave Le a flush draw. He changed his call to "Diamond!" and sure enough, the {7-Diamonds} completed the board. Eskandar was sent out in 134th place.

Le chipped up to roughly 7.5 million and is well ahead of the field.
