Zach Gruneberg

Event #17 of the Borgata Poker was the $1,060 Purple Chip Bounty NLH. There were 232 total entries and Zach Gruneberg was the last man standing in the early morning hours.

Gruneberg will take home $31,502 and his second Borgata Poker Open trophy of the series. He previously won Event #3: $500 Black Chip Bounty for $56,073.

This is Gruneberg's third Borgata Poker Open title and he has now earned over $1,800,000 throughout his career.

"This is unreal, I don't know if anyone's ever won two bounties, especially in the same series," Gruneberg said with a smile as he posed for his winners photo.

He is certainly having a series to remember and he is off to get some rest before taking his seat in the BPO Championship.

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Carlos Zambrano
Carlos Zambrano

Zach Gruneberg moved all in and Carlos Zambrano called for about 700,000.

Zach Gruneberg: {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Carlos Zambrano: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}

The dealer fanned the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop and it was a monster flop for Zambrano who picked up an open ended straight flush draw.

The turn {9-Diamonds} and river {2-Hearts} were no help to Zambrano and he is our Event 17 runner up earning $18,560 for his second place finish.

David Konsky

David Konsky and Zach Gruneberg went heads up to the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Konsky continued with a bet of 250,000 and Gruneberg moved all in.

After giving it plenty of thought Konsky called for about 1,400,000 turning over {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for middle pair and a flush draw.

Gruneberg showed {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} for bottom set and Konsky would need to improve. The turn {k-Clubs} and river {5-Clubs} were no help to Konsky and he was eliminated in third earning $10,689.
