WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship Day 3

Jonathan Jaffe
Jonathan Jaffe

Day 3 of the WPT BPO Championship will get getting underway shortly with 145 returning players, all of whom are in the money and guaranteed to earn at least $5,797. Of course all have their eye on the top prize of $616,186 and becoming part of the WPT Champions Club.

Jonathan Jaffe starts Day 3 as the chip leader with 1,035,000, followed by Victor Ramdin with 1,016,000. Both of these guys are already Champions Club members, so they're looking for a second plaque on the trophy.

Jennings Doubles Thru Jaffe

Bill Jennings
Bill Jennings

Jonathan Jaffe (sb) and Bill Jennings, (bb) and Jason Wade (utg) were looking at a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Jaffe checked, Jennings checked, and Wade fired 20,000. Jaffe flatted, then Jennings raised to 77,000. Wade folded, Jaffe then raised to 250,000, and Jennings shoved all 295,000 in. Jaffe called the small raise and the hands were tabled.

Jaffe's {k-Spades}{7-Spades} (flush draw) was drawing against Jennings' {8-Clubs}{7-Spades} (trip eights). The board completed with the {k-Diamonds} and the {3-Hearts} and changed nothing. Jennings doubled up and Jaffe was knocked off the top of the leaderboard.

Jennings Pays It Forward, to Dunst

Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst

After doubling up through the chip leader, Bill Jennings didn't hold on to those chips for long. He got involved in a pot with WPT Commentator Tony Dunst.

On the turn with the board reading {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, Dunst got all-in for ~240,000 and called by Jennings.

Dunst (bb) had {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for two pair to crack Jennings' {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. The {5-Hearts} river was a brick and Dunst doubled up.
