The clock ticked past 2 a.m. local time in Atlantic City when an abrupt end was called to Day 3 of the 2026 Borgata Summer Poker Open $2,700 Championship. The remaining seven players were sent off to rest up for tomorrow’s final day, but it was Carlos Chadha who will sleep the most soundly tonight.
The Washington native bagged up an overwhelming chip lead at the final table, ending the day with 9,520,000. Chadha has nearly three times his closest challenger and is in a commanding position to capture the title and $242,385 first prize tomorrow.

Chadha leapt up the leaderboard when he pulled off a big bluff against Nicholas Verderamo. He bet 2,400,000 on the river with just a pair of threes, and Verderamo laid down top pair of aces. Chadha then made the nut flush on the river to beat Bin Weng’s set of fours and send Weng to the rail in 11th place. He’ll move past $3.5 million in live tournament earnings with a win tomorrow, with a career resume that includes a deep run to 51st place in the WSOP Main Event a few weeks ago.
Maxwell Young is ahead of the pack who will try to track down Chadha at the final table. The Florida native with nearly $4 million in live earnings sits in second place with 3,450,000. Michael Renna’s ticket to the final day was nearly ripped up when, on one of the last hands before play was called, he got in his last chips with two nines but ran into Verderamo’s jacks. The flop, though, gave him a set and a double up. Renna doubled up multiple times during the last level and went from an extreme short stack to 2,795,000 and third place on the leaderboard.
James Tedrow (1,955,000) is the last remaining BetMGM qualifier left in the field, while Verderamo (2,630,000), Russ Dunlevy (1,055,000), and WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Porter (1,030,000) round out the rest of the final table lineup.
Day 3 began with 24 players remaining out of a starting field of 565, and among the first bustouts were BetMGM qualifiers Xiaoqiong Liu (22nd), John McDonald (19th), and Austen Yueh (17th). Mike Dentale managed to make the final table, but his colorful run through this tournament came to an end when he lost a flip with ace-queen against Young’s threes to bust in ninth place. Tedrow then flopped the nut flush to eliminate Ricky Guan in eighth place.
Play was scheduled to go down to six players, but the short stacks kept surviving and the hours ticked by before it was decided to end up with seven players. They’ll return at noon local time tomorrow to play down to a champion. The action picks up on Level 28 with blinds of 60,000/120,000 and a 120,000 big blind ante. Levels will go back to being 60 minutes long, before being further reduced to 30 minutes once heads-up play is reached.
