Botticello on the Ropes Early On

Three ways to the 3324Q river with around 8,500 in the middle, John Botticello in the big blind bet 7,000. Andrea Salamone then raised to 19,000 from under the gun and Michael Sukonik on the button folded.

"Do you really have queens full?" Botticello asked and didn't get any answer. He tanked for more than a minute before he called and was shown the 44 for fours full of treys, mucking his cards thereafter to drop to a severe short stack in the first level.

Duronio Jams Into Kluska

Elias Off to a Rocky Start

Wesley Shi raised to 600 and Darren Elias called on the button. Andrea Salamone in the big blind three-bet to 2,100 and Shi folded whereas Elias called. On the J63 flop, the big blind's bet of 1,500 was called by Elias. When checked to on the J turn, Elias bet 3,000 to get called and they checked the 4 on the river.

Salamone revealed KK for kings and jacks to take down the pot as Elias mucked.

Olshan Takes From Nguyen

With the turn showing J623, Jason Nguyen check-called a bet of 2,000 by David Olshan and then checked again the Q on the river. Olshan now fired a bet of 3,000 and Nguyen sent his cards into the muck. While the hand played out, Joseph Garguilo entered and took a seat on the same table.

Moll Strikes Back Against Izes

On a flop of 732, Colin Moll checked from under the gun and Jeffrey Izes then bet 900 for Moll to call. The 5 followed on the turn and Moll checked once more. Izes now bet 1,800 only to get check-raised to 7,000 for Moll to win the pot and his previously lost chips.

Jason Nguyen raised to 800 and was called by David Olshan out of the big blind to then check-fold the 833 flop to a bet of 1,100, Nguyen flashed the AQ.

Shortly after, Jeffrey Izes opened to 500 and was called only by Colin Moll in the big blind. On the Q83 flop, Moll check-called for 700 and they checked the 9 on the turn. Moll bet the 8 river for 1,000 and Izes called to get shown the Q4 for queens and eights.

"I win," Izes said and tabled his A8 for trips eights before adding "the spades saved you a lot of money ... well, it is early."
