Trophy Awaits For One of the Final Eight on Day 3 of the BSOP $20,000 Super High Roller
The largest poker series ever held in South America drew a talent-packed field of 56 to the WTC Sheraton in Sao Paulo, and one of them will emerge as champion of the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) Super High Roller Series R$100,000 ($20,000 US) Super High Roller today.
Ruben Lopes (3,425,000) of Portugal leads the eight remaining players who return today at 2 p.m. local time to play down to a champion. Right behind him on the leaderboard is his countryman Hugo Machado (3,295,000), while Mehdi Chaoui, no stranger to high roller events with more than $3 million in live earnings, rounds out the podium with 2,010,000.

Ivan Luca already came close to a title this week, finishing second in the $10,000 Super High Roller Invitational a few days ago, and he’ll look to do one better today as he starts with 1,770,000. PokerStars Team Pro and local superstar Rafael Moraes is in fifth place with 1,405,000, while the rest of the final table lineup is rounded out by Zdenek Zizka (950,000), Japanese vlogging star Masato Yokosawa (850,000), and Gabriel Tavares (305,000).
The action on Day 3 picks up with 12 hands remaining in Level 21 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and a 60,000 big blind ante. Each subsequent level will last 28 hands. The players have locked up R$210,000 ($42,000 US) for outlasting the lengthy bubble late last night, while the champion earns R$1,575,000 (US $315,000). All the action will be streamed on BSOP’s official YouTube channel on a 30-minute delay.
