Day 1 of the 2017 Cash Game Festival Tallinn - Fall Edition at Olympic Park Casino was an amazing success with lots of action and fun throughout the day and evening.

The day peaked with seven tables running with many of them expected to run throughout the evening. Games on the first day including no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha and Sviten Special.

The festival began in the late afternoon with a welcome drinks ceremony with many players enjoying free Tanqueray gin and tonics along with an assortment of meats, vegetables and cheese. Around the same time, the first televised feature table kicked off with players battling it out in €2/€2 no-limit hold'em.

Estonia's [Removed:111] was the winner at the early feature table, commentated by Scottish poker pro Andrew "Picasso" Hedley, after notching up €252 in profit or 126 big blinds. The number of big blinds won is important since the person that wins the most big blinds during any feature table during the festival will walk away with a commemorative trophy and two hospitality packages valued at £400 combined to the first Cash Game Festival next year, the Cash Game Festival London at Aspers Casino on Jan. 3-7, 2018

The stakes stayed the same for the late feature table but the action got much crazier. What was initially booked as a Finance Feature Table with many of the players being involved in the business world was quickly renamed by Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk to the Fish Birthday Feature Table in honor of Nick Voght. The shots got wild with any player winning a hand downing one and the action at the table was one the wildest (if not the wildest) at a Cash Game Festival.

Voght didn't live up to his billing as a fish and won a huge €1,100 at the table. However, the star of the day was Heiti Riisberg who won a huge profit of €3,364 or 1,682 big blinds.

Players with the hospitality package will be enjoying a painting session with a twist tomorrow in the early afternoon before heading back to the poker room for action at the tables.

Many other players will likely be enjoying the delights of Tallinn or getting into the action early in the day. As will be the case every day during the festival, live streaming is scheduled at lower stakes at 6:00 p.m. and higher stakes at 9:00 p.m. local time. You can watch all the action on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel.

Stay tuned at PokerNews for the next four days as we report some of the hottest action at the Cash Game Festival Tallinn.

What a Day for Heiti Riisberg

The crazy €2/€2 no-limit hold'em feature table has just ended. Crazy might be an understatement when examining the amount of four-digit pots and wild action.

Heiti Riisberg walked away the biggest winner at the table booking an amazing profit of €3,364 or 1,682 big blinds. This is almost double the record Kevin Malone established during the last Cash Game Festival in Dublin in October.

With his huge win, Riisberg is in excellent position just one day into the festival to take home the coveted Cash Game Festival Feature Table trophy.

Meanwhile, it turns out that Nick Voght wasn't one of the fish at the table and booked a profit of around €1,100.

Heiti's Aces Hold in a HUGE Pot at the Feature Table

Jens "Dansken" Riis with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} calls a four-bet of €1,000 from Heiti Riisberg with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk also had all of his chip stack of €150 in the middle holding {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Although a king spiked the flop Riis was unable to otherwise improve his hand and a huge pot was shipped over to Riisberg.

The Shots Keep Coming

A few dozen shots were being delivered to the table just as it was beginning. Apparently, this wasn't nearly enough as at around the halfway point the waitress came by with another plateful of shots containing a mysterious orange liquor.

Beginner's Luck and Crazy Action

Antti

The feature table has been insane by anyone's standards. It seems like any two cards can and have been played.

In one recent example, Jens "Dansken" Riis with {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}, Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk with {k-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Antti with {q-Hearts}{6-Spades} were involved in a hand that had more than €1,000 in the pot before the flop. As a reminder the game is €2/€2 no-limit hold'em.

While this might seem surprising, and usually is, it seems to be relatively normal at this table.

Antti, who has only played poker a handful of times won a huge pot after a {6-} appeared on the flop before another {6-} appeared on the turn.

Seven Tables

A few of the players at the Sviten Special table were scheduled to appear on the feature table. The remaining players agreed to play it again later in the festival.

Meanwhile, there are seven tables in action including as follows:

  • €5/€5 NLHE - One table
  • €2/€2 NLHE - Three tables
  • €2/€2 PLO - One Table
  • €1/€1 NLHE - One Table

Metalface Joins the Commentary

The televised feature table has been a blast thus far with tons of table talk. There is also now likely twice the talk in the commentary booth itself as Cash Game Festival regular Ryan "Metalface" Davey joined Andrew "Picasso" Hedley to report on the action.

Shot Game

Jens "Dansken" Riis ordered a few dozen shots. However, when the bill came, it was Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk who footed the bill.

The shots were handed over to Kadi Kask, who is the clicker at the table. Dansken and Rikard Relander seem to be in charge of a shot game where the winner is strongly encouraged to down a shot.

For the most part, it seemed players were gladly imbibing whenever they won a hand and were handed a shot. That was true until Relander, who has been friends of Franke for years, tried to get Franke to refund the win if he wouldn't down a shot. Franke reminded that the shots were optional and that he paid for them before play went on.

Will Nick Vocht Be the Fish at the Fish Birthday Feature Table?

The second €2/€2 no-limit hold'em feature table has just begun headlined by Cash Game Festival Cofounder Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk. While the game has just begun, the fun seems like it has been happening for awhile with tons of screaming and laughs with Franke's laugh being the loudest heard around the room.

In addition to Franke, there are plenty of other entrepreneurs and businessmen at the table which was at first informally dubbed the "Finance Feature Table."

The businessmen include Nick Vocht (Seat 1), Jens "Dansken" Riis (Seat 6), Rikard Relander (Seat 7) and Heiti Riisberg (Seat 8). Since it is Vocht's birthday, Franke announced before the table sang happy birthday that the table will now be the Fish Birthday Table in honor of Nick Vocht.

Also at the table are Antti in Seat 2 who is playing poker for one of his first times in his life that just wanted to gamble on camera. Rounding the table off is Betsson qualifier Dansko in Seat 4 and NordicBet Head of Poker Jostein Grødum in Seat 5.

Once again, Scotland's Andrew "Picasso" Hedley will be the lead commentator with guests popping in and out during the stream. You can check out the action at the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel or by clicking on the Live Stream tab in our coverage.
