Shovkovyi Spikes King on the River in Massive Pot

After a preflop betting war, James Galloway, Vladyslav Shovkovyi, and another player got all the chips into the middle in a massive pot, with Galloway covering.

The flop of J♦8♥A♦ was huge for Player 1 as he made top two-pair, and the turn was a blank 3♠, but the river was dastardly as it came the K♣ to give the win to Shovkovyi with a bigger two-pair.

"WHHHAAAaaahhh!" Jessica Richards provided sound effects as the monster pot was pushed over to Shovkovyi while Player 1 exited and Galloway had a chunk taken from him.

On a four-way flop of 2♥9♦4♦, two players checked to David Lawson who bet 15,500 into the pot of 27,000, but then Jason Hickey moved all in for 42,000. The first two players got out of the way and after some thought, Lawson made the call to put him at risk.

Lawson was ahead with his pocket sixes but needed to fade any king, eight, or diamond. Luckily for him, the runout was pure as it came J♣3♥ for his pair to hold and Hickey was eliminated.

On a heads-up turn between Brad Ruben and Christina Sharkady, the board read Q♥J♥2♦8♠ when Ruben bet 36,000 and Sharkady called.

The river fell the 6♥ and Sharkady led for 50,000 but then Ruben moved all in to cover.

"F*ck...well I don't think I can fold... only one hand beats me..." Sharkady said aloud as she counted her stack.

After about twenty seconds, she made the call to put herself at risk and tabled K♥3♥ for a king-high flush, but then Ruben showed her the bad news with A♥2♥ for the nut flush. The table went crazy at the strength of their hands as Sharkady exited the tournament while Ruben was pushed the pot to become the dominant chip leader.
