Texas Poker Open Returns to Champions Club

Champions Club has announced the return of the PGT Texas Poker Open, following a highly successful inaugural event in 2024. The series runs April 16-29, with the highly anticipated $3,300 PGT Texas Poker Open Main Event beginning on Wednesday, April 23 featuring a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted 735 entries, with Ren Lin crowned champion to take home $400,000. With another giant turnout expected, the PGT Texas Poker Open remains one of the most exciting and prestigious tournaments in the country.

On a turn of 3♣Q♥A♣4♣, the action was checked to LaDarren Banks who tossed out a bet of 10,000 and after some thought, was called by Zhargal Tsydypov.

The river was the 6♣ and both players decided to check.

Tsydypov then flipped over K♦10♣7♣3♦ for a ten-high flush and Banks tapped the table to signal that was good and he mucked his hand.

On a flop of 10♣7♠6♣ all of the chips between LaDarren Banks, Scott Kneeland, and Frederick Campbell got into the middle, with Campbell at risk.

Banks and Kneeland were both in the lead with their nut straight, and Banks even had a flush draw to go with it, but the turn 6♠ left them both dead in the water as Campbell instantly made a full house. The river was the meaningless 3♣ and he was awarded the pot while the other twp players exited.

It didn't matter what the last player had bc Shaw made a set on the flop of 3♠5♥A♥, and then improved to quads on the 5♠ turn! The river 3♥ awarded him the pot while Diaz and the other player hit the rail.
