Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Rocco Palumbo
Rocco Palumbo

"All in," announced Rocco Palumbo, jamming for 140,000 under the gun. Action folded around to Steve Wilkie in the big blind.

"I really don't want to...But I call," said Wilkie."I call. I call," he confirmed to avoid confusion.

Rocco Palumbo: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Steve Wilkie: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Palumbo lost the coin flip after a runout of {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} came to unnecessarily improve Wilkie to a flush, eliminating him in seventh place and taking Wilkie to the top of the counts with a stack of

Jason Dennis
Jason Dennis

Jason Dennis open-jammed for 71,000 and received a call from Eddy Konarske in the cutoff. All remaining players folded.

Jason Dennis: {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Eddy Konarske: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

"Three?" asked Dennis. He got one in the window of {4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} but quickly saw the turn {q-Hearts} put him behind once more. Luckily for him, the river {3-Spades} brought him trips to save his tournament life.

Wu Crushed In Chilling Fashion

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sherman Wu
Sherman Wu

Steve Wilkie was on the button and saw limps from Michael Giardina in early position and Sherman Wu in the hijack. Wilkie raised to 30,000 and both limpers called.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Giardina checked. Wu then went all in for 71,000, sending Wilkie into the tank.

"Sorry guys, just..." said Wilkie after about 45 seconds. He continued, "I think you're on a flush draw and I'm ahead." Another half a minute went by and he found a call, with Giardina folding behind.

"What do you have?" asked Wu, tabling {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for aces up. Wilkie's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} was behind, but running {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} gave him a backdoor flush to improve beyond Wu's two pair and eliminated him in eighth place as a result.

Sherman Wu limped under the gun and action folded around to Bobby Sanoubane, who jammed for 59,000 on the button. Michael Giardina called in the small blind and Wu tank-folded, much to his own delight.

Bobby Sanoubane: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Michael Giardina: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The flop {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts} gave Sanoubane Broadway but he was still not in the clear as Giardina had heart outs for the redraw in additon to chop outs should another jack appear.

"Cmon, baby. Hold!" said Sanoubane. The turn {2-Diamonds} and river {7-Diamonds} both fell cleanly, causing him to clap his hands in celebration. "Let's go!" he added, and the pot was shipped his way.

Michael Giardina
Michael Giardina

Michael Giardina opened to 18,000 on the button and received a call from Sherman Wu, who defended his big blind.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Wu check-called a continuation-bet of 15,000 from Giardina, bringing the turn {k-Spades} where both players checked.
