Hinde Fires Twice

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Hinde opened to 27,000 in middle position and received calls from both Rocco Palumbo in the small blind and Steve Wilkie, who defended his big blind. The flop dropped {j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and action checked to Hinde, who continuation-bet 75,000. Palumbo called and Wilkie folded.

Action went heads up to the turn {5-Spades} and Palumbo checked again. Hinde then jammed for about 365,000.

"I really wanna hero call you," said Palumbo after about 90 seconds in the tank. Another half a minute then passed and he let his hand go. Hinde showed {a-Hearts} as he took down the pot.

Josh Saltz raised to 22,000 in middle position and Rich Dixon went all in for his last 38,000 in the hijack. Action folded back to Saltz and he called.

Rich Dixon: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Josh Saltz: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

The runout came {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, leaving Saltz's aces on top.

Moments later, Christian Larsen got all in preflop on the button, re-jamming over an under-the-gun open from Jason Remshardt who called.

Christian Larsen: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Jason Remshardt: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The flop {k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} gave Larsen Broadway but he still had two outs to fade, which he did as running {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} fell safely to score him the double.

Edwin Parker
Edwin Parker

Action folded around to Edwin Parker in the small blind and he completed on a stack of around 100,000. Rocco Palumbo checked his option in the big blind and the flop came {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Parker bet out and Palumbo raised him all in. Parker called.

Edwin Parker: {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Rocco Palumbo: {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Palumbo proved to have too many outs to miss as the turn {q-Hearts} put Parker in bad shape. The river {8-Spades} left the situation unchanged and Parker was eliminated as a result.

Al Hart was also eliminated from an adjacent table at the same time, and 19 players now remain.

When the final three tables were reached, not a single player with above 250,000 wound up at Table 9. As such, more stacks have been played for since the eliminations of Jason Vanstrom and Tony Clapes.

In the last couple of hands, Jason Remshardt eliminated Eric Smidinger and Michael Hinde got the best of Lawrence Brink, bringing the field down to 21.

Dan Mingus
Dan Mingus

Phil Gioia raised to 20,000 under the gun and received calls from both Dan Mingus in the cutoff and Steve Wilkie in the small blind. The flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} and action checked to Mingus, who bet 50,000. Wilkie announced a check-jam and Gioia folded, with Mingus announcing a reluctant call for the rest of his chips.

"Nice set, Steve," said Mingus, tabling {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and seeing Wilkie's {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Mingus could not catch running boat outs on running {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Wilkie collected another knockout, taking his stack above 1.6 million in the process.

Jason Vanstrom and Tony Clapes, both of whom were shorter stacked on Table 9 were also eliminated lately, and 23 players now remain.
