Muursepp Off to a Good Start

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Martin Muursepp
Martin Muursepp

Former NBA player Martin Muursepp is off to a great start. His stack was hovering around six-figures before and has settled down to a very respectable 83,000 after he just doubled off a short-stacked opponent.

Ivar Simmer jammed for about 14,000 with about the same in the pot with the board reading {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Muursepp thought for a moment before he made the call.

Ivar Simmer: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Martin Muursepp: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Simmer was visibly nervous and started to get up from his seat even though his opponent was only drawing to one of the two remaining kings on the river. He shouted out, "Yes" after a safe {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Veste Snags a Pot Off Nommik

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Jaanus Veste just got some of his chips back. He bet 2,300 into a three-way pot with about 4,000 in the middle on a {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop.

Raivo Nommik called and the other player that was in the hand folded.

Both players checked after the {3-Diamonds} came on the turn. Veste then fired out for 3,500 after the {3-Spades} paired the board on the river and Nommik quickly called.

Veste turned over {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and collected the pot after Nommik tossed his hand into the muck.

Einard's Straight Proves to be Good Against Veste

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Jaanus Veste bet 4,500 into a pot of around 9,000 with the board reading {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Urmo Einard went into the tank for a few minutes before he eventually jammed his remaining stack of 12,400. Veste wasted no time and snap-called.

Einard held a straight with {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Veste looked shocked as he tossed his hand into the muck.

"Really, really," Veste kept repeating to his opponent who gave him no reaction back.

Break Time!

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Players are on their final break of the day. When they return, they will play for two more levels before surviving players bag their chips to Day 2 on Saturday.

Kim Herold Doubles with Kings

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Last night Kim Herold was on the stage singing his heart out during the welcome drinks ceremony. Today we get to see how he does on the felts.

So far so good for Herold as if he isn't in the chip lead he is close to it.

In a recent hand, a player opened to 800 before Herold three-bet to 1,800. from the cutoff Markku Koplimaa four-bet to 6,500 and the action folded to Herold who five-bet jammed for more than 50,000.

Koplimaa went into the tank for several minutes and attempted to engage into conversation with Herold.

"Do you have kings? Do you have a strong hand?" asked Koplimaa.

"Only one way to find out," said Herold.

Koplimaa thought for several more minutes before he said: "Alright, I call."

Kim Herold: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Markku Koplimaa: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

Herold was in the lead when all the chips went into the pot and held on the entire way as the board ran out {J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

After players bag chips, if Herold isn't too tired he agreed to an interview live on Facebook with PokerNews. During the next break coming up in a few minutes, PokerNews will interview Norway's Anders Karlsen.

Sootla Out and In Again

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Ranno Sootla made waves for Estonian poker fans this summer when he had a huge run for a WSOP gold bracelet in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em - Bounty event. He didn't find gold in that event and instead took second place for $168,464.

Sootla is well-known to enter big events in his home country and it doesn't get much bigger than the Coolbet Open Main Event.

Today hasn't gone that well for Sootla. He was down on chips and got his stack of around 25 big blinds with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and was called by Roope Tarmi with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

One of Sootla's tablemates said, "It's time for diamonds."

However, not enough diamonds came nor did any other help for Sootla as the board ran out {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Sootla temporarily left the tournament area.

The tournament director asked Sootla if he was going to reenter.

"Of course," Sootla said as he headed to the registration desk to get a new seat.

Coolbet Founder Jan Svendsen Eliminated

Level 5 : 150/300, 300 ante
Jan Svendsen
Jan Svendsen

Coolbet Founder Jan Svendsen entered the Main Event despite sharing that he couldn't play on Saturday's Day 2. We asked Svendsen why he entered if that was the case.

Svendsen shrugged before he smiled and shared: "I created the company you know."

Svendsen ran up his stack to around 60,000 before the break. However, right after the break he lost most of his stack.

He got it all-in with {K-}{K-} on a queen-high flop against an opponent with {A-}{Q-}. An ace came on the river and his opponent doubled up.

Svendsen hung in there for a bit but his stack dwindled down to crumbs. He got the rest of his chips with {K-}{5-} against Björn Störmer, who also had a short-stack.

The Coolbet Founder was actually ahead with Störmer holding {J-}{10-}. However, a jack hit the flop and Svendsen was out the door after he blanked the turn and river.

Svendsen shared he is one and done and will not reenter the tournament.
