Pin Respect for Simmer

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Joonas Kalevi Yltio opened up from early position to 3,300 and got a call from Ivar Simmer. A third player three-bet to 11,000. Yltio folded and Simmer called.

Simmer checked the {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop before his opponent led out for 16,000. Simmer paused for a moment before he declared himself all-in for about 60,000.

His opponent folded and Simmer smiled, pointed to his jacket with a pin on it, and said, "You respect my pin."

Leinonen Takes Out Nerlandstrem

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Santtu Leinonen
Santtu Leinonen

Jim Nerlandstrem from late position three-bet an opener to 20,000 before Santtu Leinonen four-bet jammed for about 80,000 from the big blind.

The action folded back to Nerlandstrem who paused for a full minute before he called.

Santtu Leinonen: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Jim Nerlandstrem: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Nerlandstrem was in big trouble and the {2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs} board didn't save him from being eliminated from the Main Event. Meanwhile, Leinonen now has more than double the average stack after the hand.

Jahn Eric Chruickshank began the day with an above average stack but it was cut in more than half early on in Day 2. Meanwhile, table mate Ranno Asper entered the day with a below average stack that eventually dwindled down to crumbs. Now both players have almost the same amount of chips.

Asper open-jammed for 10,200 from middle position with {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} and was called by Chruickshank from the big blind with {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Asper stayed ahead the entire way as the {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} ran blanks for his opponent and doubled up his stack.

Navickas Flushes a Double

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Audrius Navickas late entered today with a stack of 30,000. His stack was down to 18,900 before he doubled up.

The hand began with Masoud Mirza Mohamadi opening to 3,300 from early position before Navickas three-bet jammed 18,900 from one seat over.

The rest of the table folded and Mohamadi paused for a minute before he called.

Audrius Navickas: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Masoud Mirza Mohamadi: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Navickas was looking good to double before the flop but he already had the hand locked up with a flush after the {4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} came on the flop.

The {Q-Clubs} on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river completed the board and Navickas breathed a sigh of relief.

Westby Increases His Massive Stack after Kyte Doesn't Get His Diamond

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Tony Andre Westby
Tony Andre Westby

Tony Andre Westby began the day with 86,900 in chips and now has a massive stack of 390,000 after eliminating several opponents.

His latest victim was Norwegian poker pro Jon Kyte who started the day as a short stack and was down to 14,500 when he decided to make a move.

Westby opened to 2,600 from under the gun before Kyte jammed to 14,500 from the small blind. Westby snap called.

Jon Kyte: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Tony Andre Westby: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Kyte did not like what he saw.

"Why did you have that?" Kyte asked. "Why couldn't you have one of your random hands like eight-seven or jack-ten?"

The {A-Diamonds} was in the hole before the rest of the flop.

"Diamonds, please!" shouted Kyte.

But the rest of the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop didn't have any other diamonds for Kyte.

The {7-Diamonds} came on the turn and Kyte was asking for cards again.

"Diamond, king, diamond, king," Kyte repeated a few times.

However, the {A-Clubs} came instead of a diamond or a king and Kyte was eliminated.
