Siljander Sliding Up on the Leaderboard

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Mathias Siljander
Mathias Siljander

Mathias Siljander started the day with one of the shorter stacks but if he is not the chip leader he is close to it.

In a recent hand, he opened to 4,000 from early position before calling a three-bet jam of 37,000 from Jari Aaltonen.

Mathias Siljander: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Jari Aaltonen: {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Aaltonen was fully out of his seat before the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} appeared on the flop before halfway sitting down again.

His tournament life was over after the {5-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Spades} on the river did nothing to improve his hand. Meanwhile, after the hand, Siljander had more than 400,000 in chips.

Trussov Takes Out Dudakov

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dmitru Dudakov was down to under 10 big blinds. He three-bet jammed for about eight big a button open from Andrey Trussov and got a call.

Dudakov was ahead with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} against his opponent's {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

However, fortunes quickly turned after a queen hit the {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Dudakov was unable to get one of the two remaining tens to save his tournament life in the deck as the {K-Spades} came on the turn and the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Kokk Doubles, Sepp Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Janar Kokk
Janar Kokk

Aare Sepp raised to 4,500 from under the gun before Janar Kokk three-bet jammed from the big blind to 23,000. Sepp called and they were off to the races.

Aare Sepp: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Janar Kokk: {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Kokk increased his lead in the hand after the {J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Spades} came on the flop. He then tapped the table after the {2-Diamonds} on the turn for a full house. The {10-Diamonds} came on the river and Sepp was down to exactly one big blind.

The very next hand, Andrei Mjagkov raised to 4,500 from middle position with {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. The action folded to Sepp who was already all-in by posting his blinds with {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

Sepp hit the rail as he was unable to catch up in the hand after the {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts} came on the board.

Kokk Back to the Beginning

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Janar Kokk
Janar Kokk

Janar Kokk, who has been diligently updating his stack via the MyStack app, is now down to near a starting stack.

He shared with PokerNews on the break that Jonas Bølge Tveit in middle position opened to 3,600 before he three-bet to 8,000 from one seat over.

Kokk got a call from Tveit before the {8-}{6-}{2-} came on the flop.

Kokk bet 15,000 before he called a jam from his opponent of 50,000. Kokk had an overpair with {Q-}{Q-} but was drawing to two outs as Tveit managed to flop top set with {8-}{8-}.

The {j-} on the turn and the {k-} on the river didn't help Kokk and he was down to 34,500 after the hand.

Olufsen and Herold Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Coolbear and Kim Herold
Coolbear and Kim Herold

We caught up with both Norway's Mariann Berg Olufsen and Finnish musician Kim Herold on the break. Their break was more permanent than some of the other players as both are out of the Main Event.

Olufsen shared she got her stack down short and three-bet jammed with {K-}{J-} and was called by the initial raiser with {Q-}{10-}. A {10-} hit the flop and Olufsen was unable to catch up.

Herold shared he lost most of his stack with {Q-}{Q-} against an opponent holding {2-}{2-}. Most of the chips went in after a {2-} was on the board. Afterward, the rest of his chips went into the middle and he was unable to pull out that hand either.

Both players are in great spirits despite their day ending a little bit earlier than they would have liked. Olufsen was off to dinner with friends while Holder shared he hoped to crush the pot-limit Omaha event tonight.
