Hedlund Takes Out Hurri

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jari Hurri
Jari Hurri

Peter Hedlund is one of the most successful players still in the field with more than $1.1 million in career cashes. Jari Hurri and Hedlund were chatting it up for the past two hours but that time has come to an end.

Hedlund, who didn't look at his cards, completed the blinds from the small blind and Hurri checked behind from the big blind.

Hedlund checked after the {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades} came on the flop. Hurri bet 5,000 and Hedlund, who by this time looked at his cards, shoved all his chips in the middle in a disorganized fashion and Hurri called for the about 125,000 left in his stack.

It was a bit of a cooler for Hurri as he held {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and was well behind the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} held by Hedlund. Hurri was officially eliminated after the {7-Diamonds} came on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} came on the river.

Hedlund seemed sincere when he apologized to Hurri for taking him out of the tournament as the two of them appeared to develop a new found friendship at the Coolbet Open.

Cobb Out on a Big Flip

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Barry David Cobb
Barry David Cobb

Aki Oskari Virtanen four-bet jammed covering the 120,000 or so Barry Cobb began the hand with and Cobb call..

It was a huge flip for a pot close to 250,000 in chips with Virtanen holding {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Cobb with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. Cobb was unable to hit a piece of the {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs} board and was eliminated from today's action.

Berggren Doubles First Hand Off Break

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

David Berggren jammed for 47,500 from under the gun. Erik Lovgren asked how much before he made the call from one seat over.

The rest of the table folded and Berggren turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and was flipping against the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} held by Lovgren.

Berggren got out of his seat and appeared ready to head out the door after his opponent paired the {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop.

Tides quickly changed after the {7-Spades} came on the turn to give Berggren a set and his opponent drawing dead. The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Berggren found a double-up first hand off the break.

Break Time!

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Players are on their final 15-minute break of the day. There is still an hour-long dinner break scheduled for around 8:15 p.m. after Level 16.

Albertsen Deliver a Dirty Beat to Lindqvist

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player opened to 7,500 from early position before Kjell Lindqvist jammed for 65,300 from late position. Former Coolbet Open champion Mats Albertsen asked how much before he called from the big blind.

The original opener folded and Lindqvist was in excellent shape to double with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} against his Albertsen's {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

It wasn't meant to be for Lindqvist as Albertsen spiked a set on the {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop followed by the {j-Hearts} on the turn. The dagger came down on Lindqvist as the {5-Spades} came on the river to give his opponent quads.

Lindqvist was in good spirits after the hand pointing to his Vimenn patch and said he will take a short break before he enters the two-day €330 Vimenn Open that just began.
