Jakobsen Among Leaders After Eliminating Matonis
Level 6
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Sergi Kapanadze checked the 5♦3♥6♦ flop from the big blind, and Egidijus Matonis followed suit in middle position. Thomas Jakobsen then bet 5,500 from middle position, which both opponents called.
Kapanadze checked in flow on the 9♠ turn, but Matonis decided to wager his remaining 21,000 by leading out. Jakobsen quickly called, forcing Kapanadze out of the pot.
Egidijus Matonis: K♦9♦
Thomas Jakobsen: Q♥Q♦
Matonis had plenty of outs against Jakobsen's queens, but he did not find any on the 5♣ river. The big pot was shipped to Jakobsen, while Matonis quickly headed to the exit.
