€550 Main Event Kicks Off as Coolbet Open Returns for 2026 Edition

Coolbet Open
Coolbet Open

After a long year of waiting, the Coolbet Open is making its grand return. The 2026 edition of the event will be hosted at Olympic Park Casino in Hilton Tallinn Park, the same venue where the first-ever Coolbet Open took place in 2018. Aside from a plethora of side events, which include mystery bounty, PLO, and mixed-game events, the flagship €550 Main Event remains the main attraction, and it will begin today at noon with Day 1a.

Last year, Spanish grinder Guillermo Gordo took home the Coolbet Open trophy and €48,400 by conquering a field of 493 entries. In a field of mostly Scandinavian and Baltic players, the Spaniard came out on top, winning his first-ever live tournament, and doing so in a city he had previously called home.

This year, the Main Event will have a slightly different structure. Day 1a today will be the first of three starting flights, with Day 1b and Day 1c both taking place on September 3. All starting days will play nine levels of 40 minutes each. As a result, Day 1a is scheduled to end around 6:30 p.m. local time, right on time for a scrumptious Estonian dinner.

The late registration will remain open for a while longer — for 13 levels, in fact. This means that late registration is scheduled to close on Day 2 at 3:20 p.m. local time, giving players plenty of opportunities to make use of the unlimited reentries available to them. Day 2 will then play down to the money, and the tournament will play to a winner on Day 3, the final day of the Main Event.

Meanwhile, late registration remains open until the start of Level 14: 1,500/3,000 (3,000).
