Dinner Break!

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

With Level 7 now in the books it's dinner time. PokerNews' coverage of the DeepStacks Niagara main event will continue 60 minutes from now.

LeBusto

Annie LePage
Annie LePage

The dwindling field here at the Seneca Niagara Casino just got a lot less appealing to look at. We walked over to Table 4 to find that Friend of Team DeepStacks Annie LePage had been eliminated. According to Karina Jett, LePage moved all in with {Q-}{J-} on a {Q-}{10-}{5-} flop, but her opponent had wasted no time in calling with his set of fives.

LePage is sticking around to watch Matusow until the dinner break.

Doing Work

Mikey likes it.
Mikey likes it.

Mike Matusow has doubled up since we last saw his stack, but it didn't happen in the traditional way.

The Mouth was only to happy to tell PokerNews he's chipped up over the last level without showdown or the benefit of a big pot.

Grinding away, he's now turned his attentions to betting the NBA. Apparently the Mavericks and the over is a lock.

Kuhlmann Kicks Back

Dietrich Kuhlmann continues to make a name for himself here at DeepStacks Niagara.

He recently turned pocket queens into another big pot and is among the big stacks now with 100k+.

Grinding the Big Stack

Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

The Mizrachi train continues to pick up steam over at the featured table. Shortly after chopping a 20,000 pot with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} against {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, "The Grinder" finished on the better end of a coinflip to increase his stack into six figures.

Mizrachi raised to 1,525 from early position and the button shoved over the top for 11,600 with {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Action folded back to Mizrachi, who called with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and another player's dreams were dashed by Mizrachi.

Jett Flying

Karina Jett is making a move up the leaderboard.

She bet 3,500 into a {k-}{k-}{j-} flop and called immediately when her opponent shoved for 10,500 total.

Her {k-}{2-} was behind her opponent's {k-}{7-}, but the {2-} on the turn took care of that.

The {5-} river put her in the lead for good and she's now on more than 60k.

Having a Blast

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

During the break, Team DeepStacks Pro Karina Jett told us that she's really enjoying her table so far today. "I really hate it when I'm playing at a table with a bunch of douchebags," she said with a smile.

Jett is seated with Annie LePage — Mike Matusow's better half — and is coasting with nearly double her starting stack.
