At 3 p.m. local time today, Casino Malta will once again be filled to the brim with some of the best PLO players from around the world for Day 1b of the €10,300 PLO Grand Slam Championship. On day 1a, 79 entries were made in the flagship event of the Diamond Poker Series, of which 21 made it through to Day 2. With the guaranteed prize pool set at €2,000,000, many of the eliminated players will be enticed to try again on Day 1b, expected to be joined by some fresh faces.

The chiplead on Day 1a ended up in the hands of German high-stakes poker veteran Ole Schemion, who increased the starting stack of 200,000 to a whopping 1,829,000 over the course of ten levels. Other big stacks included Andras Nemeth, Stanislav Zegal, Espen Myrmo, Gergo Nagy, and Dario Alioto.
