Life Outside Poker is a podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 23rd episode, Connor speaks with Hollywood producer and 2006 Main Event champion Jamie Gold about growing up in New York City, learning poker from his parents and grandparents, playing poker with Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey and Johnny Chan in the 1990s, the early days of televised poker and his memorable 2006 Main Event run.
Gold also talked about his charity poker events that have raised more than a half-billion dollars for various causes, the future of poker content and what poker players can expect from GGPoker's $500 million purchase of the World Series of Poker.
The Life Outside Poker podcast is available on major streaming platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud and iHeartRadio. You can also watch the interview with Jamie Gold by heading to the PokerNews YouTube channel.

Leonid Yanovski got his 300,000 remaining chips in a preflop clash against Tom Vogelsang.
Leonid Yanovski: A♥A♦A♣7♦
Tom Vogelsang: K♥Q♠Q♦6♥
Vogelsang was not happy when he saw his opponent's hand, but he spiked a set on the 3♠2♥9♠Q♣10♣ to crack the aces of Yanovski and eliminate him from the tournament.

The action was caught on a turn of A♦K♣2♥3♣, where Christos Argyriadis check-called Fabian Ribau-Schmithals' bet of 120,000.
The 6♠ then fell on the river, where Riebau-Schmithals sized up to 480,000. Argyriadis spent one time bank before calling.
Riebau-Schmithals could only show J♠10♠8♦4♣ for pure air, while Argyriadis had called with K♠10♦4♠6♥ for kings and sixes.
Some hands before, Maksim Shuts had doubled twice in a row to get to a seven-figure stack.

In the last hand of the previous level, Harry Casagrande limped in under the gun before Nino Pansier made it 270,000 to go in the hijack. It folded back to Casagrande, who called to the 8♦K♠6♦ flop.
Pansier put out a continuation-bet of 250,000. Casagrande check-called before he checked the 5♣ turn as well.
Pansier put in 1,190,000, almost enough to cover Casagrande. Casagrande gave it some thought but folded once his shot clock neared zero seconds.

Hossein Ensan opened the action with a raise to 240,000 as first to act. "Lion King" called on the button and Maksim Shuts defended his big blind.
Ensan then continued for 240,000 on the Q♣5♥Q♠ flop, folding out "Lion King" but getting check-called by Shuts.
Both players checked the 7♠ turn to the K♦ river, where Shuts checked once more. Ensan did not, however, as he slid in a bet of 475,000.
Shuts went deep into the tank, spending two time banks before slamming in a call for around half his stack.
Ensan tabled A♠Q♥7♥4♦ for queens full of sevens and saw Shuts toss his cards into the muck in defeat.
