The race to the final table is on when Day 2 of the EAPT Barcelona €560 Main Event begins at 6 p.m. local time.

The first three starting flights saw a total of 281 entries take to the felt in Casino Barcelona, in addition to the turbo Day 1d flight that began this morning and 34 more from an online qualifier held on GGPoker. More than 43 still remain in the hunt for the trophy, all of whom are now in the money after surviving their opening flight.

Teddy Kamel built up an enormous stack of 815,000 on Day 1c and takes the overall tournament chip lead into today’s action. Fernando Santa Maria (731,000), Antonio Pagliuca (610,000), Cedric Jaby (595,000), and Harcharan Dogra (567,000) round out the top five.

The player wearing an EAPT patch who lasts the longest will win a seat, while players who post a photo of the patch on Instagram using the hashtag #eapokertour will be entered into a random drawing for the package.

Levels will now be 45 minutes long and pick up at the earliest finishing time from one of the starting flights. Day 1b finished on Level 15, with blinds of 3,000-6,000 and a 6,000 ante. The plan for today is to approach the final table, with a champion being crowned tomorrow.

PokerNews will follow the action the entire way and provide live updates as the field whittles toward the final nine.
