The action was missed but the Day 1a chip leader Aleksandr Biriukov has been eliminated in what must have been a huge pot against Giorgi Tchkonia.
Both players had around 2,000,000 chips but now they all belong to Tchkonia, who has almost 4,000,000 in his stack and is the clear chip leader.

Bad timing from Duravkin as his pocket fives ran straight into the bullets of Khalatiani. The runout of 4♦Q♥6♣J♥3♥ brought no help to the Ukranian player, which left him on the sidelines.
Salim Usmanov raised to 75,000 from the small blind and Sergei Kim called in the big blind.
