Day 1c of the EAPT UK Main Event is Ready to Rock!

The first-ever Eurasian Poker Tour UK Main Event is in full swing at the Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, Nottingham, with Day 1c due to start at midday local time.

Yesterday a total of 38 players advanced into Day 2 from 192 entries to ensure they will be getting a slice of the guaranteed prize pool of £500,000.

Local lad Jonathan Hanley was the overwhelming chip leader from Day 1a amassing an amazing 3,180,000 chips, while Lin Chen will bring the biggest stack from Day 1b with 1,890,000.

Play will commence at midday local time for Day 1c and a 5 p.m. start for Day 1d. Each player will receive 200,000 chips, with blinds starting with a 1,000 small blind, 1,000 big blind and 1,000 big blind ante. Day 1c’s blinds will increase every 40 minutes, while Day 1d’s blinds will increase every 30 minutes.

Players may re-enter once on both flights until the start of level seven. The play will continue until 20 percent of the field remains who will bag up and return for Day 2 on May 26 at 3 p.m. local time.

If players don’t advance today they will have one last chance on the turbo flight of Day 1e on May 26 which starts at 10 a.m. local time with 15-minute levels.

PokerNews will focus it’s coverage on Day 1c today and will provide the end-of-day chip counts for Day 1d.

Delayed C-Bet Gets Through for Simons - Sapiano Busts Lewis

Level 1 : Blinds 1,000/1,000, 1,000 ante

Stephen Simons bet 4,000 from early position and was called by Paul Richards in middle position, Garry Spinks on the button and Luke Johnson in the big blind.

All four players checked the K83 flop, but Simons continued for 8,000 on the Q turn which garnered folds from the three remaining opponents.

Meanwhile the first casualty of the day is Andrew Lewis who lost out to Albert Sapiano who is playing in his usual unique way.

Paul Harrison bet 3,000 from under the gun and was called by Daniel Elder in middle position. Paul Haycock in the hijack raised to 12,500 and was called by Albert Sapiano in the cutoff. Harrison also called, but Elder folded.

The flop of A105 saw Haycock down-bet to 8,500, which was immediately called by Sapiano while Harrison folded.

The 9 came on the turn and Haycock checked to Sapiano who shoved immediately, comfortably covering his opponent. Haycock burnt a time bank card and opted to fold KK face up.
