Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker bluffed off some of his chips when he tried to steal a pot on the river with A-3. He lost some chips and was down to 10K but rallied back before the break to get back to even with 15K.
Several of his tablemates deeply respect and admire Moneymaker for what he's done with poker, especially how he, as an unknown player won a seat online, headed to Las Vegas to play in his first live tournament and eventually take down Sammy Farha en route to his 2003 WSOP victory. One of the players at his table noted about how big the EPT has gotten.
"I started all this," he joked.
Everyone at his table laughed and thanked him for his contribution to poker. I also want to thank him for the international "Moneymaker Effect." Because of him, thousands and thousands of Swedes now play poker. They bring their buxom blonde girlfriends and their friends (for some odd reason Swedish women travel in packs) to poker tournaments and stand on the rail. Thanks to Moneymaker for all the Scandi eye candy. It makes covering tournaments in Europe a lot more fun with plenty of talent on the rail to gawk at.
In a short time, 21 year old J.P. Kelly from England has amassed over 300K (US Dollars) in winnings. He's won six tournaments in his home country and is a regular at final tables in tournaments at Grosvenor in Luton. He originally went to university but was doing so well playing poker that he never went back. He recently turned 21 and will be making his first trip to Las Vegas to play poker. Keep an eye out for J.P. Kelly at the 2007 WSOP. At the rate he's going, he should make a couple of final tables.
Roland de Wolfe (winner of the EPT3 Dublin) has been eliminated. He flopped two pair with J-8, but his opponent turned a flush to send de Wolfe to the rail. It may not be the 1st place prize of over 2 million dollars, but at least he won a few 'k' prop betting with Andrew Black!!

Andy Black was bugging Roland de Wolfe who owed him 500 Euros. They decided to do a few prop bets. They were betting the color of the flops and Andy Black kept missing. De Wolfe ran 500 up to 8K and almost got his full buy-in back. Oh, and while the two players were betting on the flops, he doubled up his stack and now has about 20K.
