Players Arriving

The players are starting to gather in the lobby area of the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort as we are about 15 minutes away from our scheduled start time of 1:00 p.m. local time for the 2008 PokerStars.com EPT Grand Final.

Players will commence with 15,000 in chips, and we'll be playing seven 90-minute levels today with the blinds commencing at 25/50.

Welcome to glamorous Monte Carlo and the home of the 2008 PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Grand Final! The Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort will be our hosts for the next week as the world's best poker players have made their way to the tiny country of Monaco for the pinnacle of the 2008 European Poker Tour.

The €10,000 + €600 tournament is the one of the most prestigious events on the poker calendar and has attracted some of the biggest names in world poker. PokerStars has sent a huge team to this event, including 320 online qualifiers and well known professionals Daniel Negreanu, Dario Mineri, Noah Boeken, Bill Chen, Vanessa Rousso, Isabelle Mercier, Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, Lee Nelson, Raymond Rahme and Barry Greenstein.

Gavin Griffin captured the title last year, but this year's winner will need overcome an expected field of around 1,000 players to take home the trophy and the millions of Euros in prize money.
