"Tent Boy's" Tent Collapses

Vincent Secher - 13th Place ($120,360)
Vincent Secher - 13th Place ($120,360)
Vincent Secher, who developed somewhat of a cult following during the week as a result of his fascinating story, has just been eliminated from the tournament in 13th place.

The hand that catalyzed his demise began with a 52,000 pre-flop raise from Hungary's Denes Kalo. When the action folded around to Secher, he moved all in over the top of Kalo's bet, making it a total of 172,000 to call. Back to Kalo the action went and he asked for a count of Secher's chips. The 122,000-chip decision sent Kalo into the tank and after about 30 seconds had passed, he attempted to call the clock on himself. "You can't call the clock on yourself," replied tournament director Steve Frezer, raining on Kalo's parade. In the end, Kalo shrugged his shoulders and made the call, tabling {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}, only to find himself well behind the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} produced by Secher.

Kalo got the help he was looking for right out of the gate, as the flop came {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, giving him two pair. Secher was unable to catch back up when the turn and river delivered the {10-Clubs} and {5-Spades}, putting an end to his impressive run.

The good news is, with the $120,360 he pocketed here today he can afford to upgrade his nickname to "Condo Boy," or "Cabin Kid," or . . . not.
