Vanessa Rousso has been involved in quite a few hands in last few minutes. None were particularly noteworthy nor did the end result change her chip stack considerably, but LadyMaverick did see the river quite a few times in the last few hands.

Two Dinner Breaks

Not unlike yesterday, the players will take staggered dinner breaks. At the completion of this round, all players will take a break. Those seated at tables 9-25 will take a one hour dinner break, the others, a normal 15 minute break. When tables 9-25 return, the remainder of the players will take their dinner break. As such, it will seem as though there are two Level 5's, when in fact it will be just each group playing their Level 5 while the other is on dinner break.

Julian Powell Eliminated

One of the Australian players has been eliminated. Julian Powell flopped a set of twos on a 2-6-9 flop. By the turn all the chips were in the middle, but he was dismayed to see his opponent has a set of nines.

Jason Gray is another Australian who has made the long trip to San Remo. He is also part of the T6 poker team which has 12 players involved today. He has doubled his stack up to 20,000 chips during the first 4 levels.

Ludovic Lacay Doubles Up

As Billy Argyros was just about to tell me about a recent hand which got him above 30,000 he had to stop to raise to 500 from early position. Ludovic Lacay called on the button and so did both blinds. The flop was dealt {3-Hearts}

and all checked to Ludovic who bet 1,100. The small blind folded but the big blind called. Billy then made it 7,000 and turned to me and said: "Now here's a big hand for you!" Ludovic had a decision on the button. After taking stock of his stack he eventually moved all in for just 300 more than Billy's bet. The big blind got out of the way and Billy made the compulsory call.

"One time!", yelled Ludovic as he showed {K-Clubs}

to Billy's {A-Diamonds}

. "It's almost a race," replied the Croc.

The turn and river were the {J-Spades}

and Ludovic Lacay won a 17,000+ chip pot; however, Billy is still more than comfortable on 26,500.

Isabelle Mercier Eliminated

We caught up to this hand on the flop. Isabeller Mercier had all her chips in the center holding the normally powerful {K-Hearts}

. She was in bad shape though as the board read {J-Hearts}

and her opponent held {Q-Hearts}

. Mercier failed to go runner-runner for the chop or the win and she headed for the door somewhat discouraged.

Bertrand Grospellier Doubles Through Ed de Haas

Ed de Haas limped in from early position. Action folded around to the small blind who completed. Bertrand Grospellier moved all in from the big blind for 2,025 total. Ed de Hass called and the small blind passed. The players showed:

Ed de Hass: {3-Hearts}

Grospellier: {A-Spades}

The board filled out {7-Spades}

and Grospellier's nine-high straight was best. He is now up to almost 5,000 chips.

Two of the Australian players who have made the trip halfway round the globe have got off to good starts. Richard Holmes has capitalized on his early rush to move up to 26,500 and Team T6 poker captain Billy "The Croc" Argyros has nearly as many with 25,500.

Glannbro Made to Sweat

With a flop dealt out {K-Diamonds}

and 2,000 chips in from pre-flop action between 4 players, Andreas Glannbro bet 1,800 when both the blinds checked. Stuart Rutter quickly folded on the cutoff but both the blinds dwelled for at least two minutes each before folding. Andreas quickly raked in the chips letting out a deep breath at the same time.
