Lapossie Continues To Attack

Kapalas raises to 78,000 and Lapossie makes it 182,000. The Greek player calls and the flop comes down {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {10-Spades} and Lapossie fires out 161,000 and Kapalas calls. The turn is the {5-Hearts} and Lapossie bets 284,000 this time and it's too much for Kapalas who folds.

Cimpan Moves On Manole

Action folded to the small blind. Sitting in the small-blind position was Cornel Cimpan and he put all of his 260,000 chips into the middle. Only Mihai Manole was left to act in the big blind. Manole asked for an exact count and had the amount verified. He was sitting on 700,000 chips behind and elected to fold {A-Spades} {5-Diamonds} face up.

"You wanna see it?" questioned Cimpan. Manole shrugged. "Do you wanna see it?" he asked again, to which Manole shrugged by nodded as well.

Cimpan then turned up {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} and the crowd stirred a little. manole just shrugged again.

Cornel Cimpan Eliminated in 10th Place (€50,000)

Creamed Cornel
Creamed Cornel
Toni Ojala shoved under the gun and it folded to fellow short stack Cornel Cimpan, who called all in. Folds from the blinds, and they flipped their cards.

Ojala: {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Cimpan: thoroughly ahead with {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

Nevertheless, board: {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades}

In such a manner we lost Cornel Cimpan, and our remaining nine runners are redrawing for seats at the unofficial nine-handed final table.

Holland 1-0 Canada

Julien Nuijten raises to 75,000 and Matt Lapossie calls in the big blind.

The flop is {2-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} and Lapossie checks back to the raiser. Nuijten bets 95,000 and that's enough to scare Lapossie off.

Ojala Is Not Finn-ished

Carter Phillips raises to 60,000 and Toni Ojala calls in the big blind. The flop is {K-Spades} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Phillips bets 70,000 after Ojala checks. Ojala calls.

Both players then check the {A-Clubs} turn before the {K-Diamonds} comes on the river which is also checked.

Phillips shows {9-?} {6-?} but he's pipped by Ojala's {8-?} {7-?}.

Goodwin Cripples Nuijten

Nuijten raises to 75,000 and Goodwin calls in the big blind. The flop is {2-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades}, Goodwin checks and Nuijten fires 85,000 which Goodwin calls.

The turn is the {J-Spades} and Goodwin checks...and so does Nujiten.

The river is the {9-Diamonds} and Goodwin bets 250,000. Nuijten calls but his {Q-?} {J-?} is pipped by Goodwin's {K-?} {J-?}.

Win Three, Play One, Go Deep: Carter Phillips Style

Carter Phillips won three seats via satellite to this event. It has obviously turned out to be a great idea to play one as he's made the final nine-handed table with chip lead. A little while ago, Melissa caught up with Carter on the dinner break to see how he's doing and chat a bit.

Nuijten Fighting Back

A few hands later, Julien Nuijten raised preflop and picked up a caller in the shape of Toni Ojala. They saw a {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts} flop and Ojala checked; Nuijten put in a 100,000 continuation bet, and Ojala passed.
