Lawrence of Not-Getting-Paid-bia

Lawrence Houghton bet and got a call on a jack-rag-rag flop, but his opponent folded when he fired out 3,800 on the {K-?} turn. A disappointed Houghton waved his pocket jacks around as the dealer pushed the small pot towards him.

Sahamies Not Afraid

Ilari Sahamies
Ilari Sahamies
Just before the break, Ilari Sahamies got his last in on a {7-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Spades} flop. Will Fry thought about it for some time, but eventually passed, leaving Sahamies to rake in the 20,000 total pot.

Rutter Not in Gutter

We feared the worst for young Stuart Rutter and his amusing pink hat (photos hopefully to appear soon), but it turned out that he'd just moved tables. At one point up to 50,000, he's now back down to his 30,000 starting stack after finding his aces no good against an opponent's {K-?} {Q-?} on a {K-?} {K-?} X flop.

Walk Tall and Carry a Big Stack

Scouring the room for big stacks, we've turned up two. Young Ami Barer is sitting behind 122,000 (his railbird friend was very helpful in specifying how many chips Barer had at the break, how many pots he had won since, and what his online screen name is -- details we promptly forgot). Down at Table 2, a player we can only assume is French, Jean Luc Bengoigui, has amassed 134,000.

Breathing Room for Binger

Michael Binger is up to about the average stack -- a bit more than 43,000 -- after making what was not an easy river call. On a board of {J-?} {10-?} {5-?} {4-?} {3-?}, Binger checked to his opponent, who bet 8,600. Binger called with {J-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}, which was a winner against his opponent's {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts}.
