Funston to Phillips: "Nice to have all those chips."

So said Lance Funston after Carter Phillips took down a pretty big pot which took honestly about 12 minutes from start to finish. This was mainly down to the participation of a short stacked Jani Sointula, who together with the others saw a flop of {K-Hearts}

. Sointula slowly checked, Phillips bet 7,600, called by both Funston and Sointula (slowly).

The turn {3-Spades}

was checked around, but not the {J-Diamonds}

river. Phillips bet 19k when Sointula checked a third time. In-position Funston made the call, but the silky-haired Finn passed (leaving himself under 40k).

Phillips flipped {J-Spades}

which had leaped ahead of Funston's {K-Clubs}

on the river.

"What a suckout!" exclaimed Funston, although there have been a lot more wince-worthy ones in the vicinity today. "It's nice to have all those chips," he added, eyeing up Phillips' 220k stack.
