Day 4 Ends: Can Anyone Slay the Dragan?

Will Dragan Galic be drinking coffee tomorrow? Coffee is for closers.
Will Dragan Galic be drinking coffee tomorrow? Coffee is for closers.
With the elimination of Pierre Neuville in 9th place, Day 4 of the 2009 PokerStars.it European Poker Tour San Remo Main Event has come to a conclusion. It was another banner day for Dragan Galic. He tripled the number of shirts he wore versus the number of shirts each of his competitors wore while doubling his chip stack to a tournament-leading 3.098 million. By ending the day atop the leaderboard for the fourth day in a row, the giant Croatian has shown the world that he's not just a one-hit wonder.

Tomorrow, Galic will try to complete a wire-to-wire feat that we don't ever recall seeing in an EPT event and haven't witnessed anywhere else in recent memory. Yet if there's one knock on Galic, it's that he's no Mariano Rivera -- he can't close. Despite making thirteen final tables in the last two years, Galic will be going for his very first live-tournament win against six second-place finishes and two thirds.

The players that will be trying to slay the Dragan at the final table tomorrow are:

Seat 1: Kalle Niemi (641,000)
Seat 2: William Reynolds (2,531,000)
Seat 3: Alex Fitzgerald (721,000)
Seat 4: Danilo D'Ettoris (686,000)
Seat 5: Gustav Sundell (2,625,000)
Seat 6: Constant Rijkenberg (932,000)
Seat 7: Dragan Galic (3,098,000)
Seat 8: Ovidiu Balaj (625,000)

Play kicks off at 2pm local time. Join us for the conclusion of one of the largest EPT tournaments ever to see who takes home the EUR 1.5 million first-place prize!
