Phillips Getting Some Back Via Hedlund

From under the gun, Peter Hedlund raised to 4,600 and Carter Phillips called in next position. The two players were heads up to a flop of {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}. Hedlund continued with an 11,000-chip bet. Phillips made the call.

The turn was the {A-Clubs} and Phillips called a bet of 25,000 from Hedlund.

The fifth and final community card was the {8-Spades}. Both players checked their option before Hedlund tabled {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. Phillips revealed the winning hand with two red sevens and scooped the pot.

Phillips gained some chips back and is at 218,000. Hedlund went down to 160,000.

Judah Folds to Debus

PokerStars online qualifier Alexander Debus raised to 4,200 preflop from the button. Mel Judah called out of the small blind and the two players would see the flop come down {K-Spades} {5-Spades} {3-Hearts}. Judah checked and Debus fired 5,000. Judah came along.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Judah checked again. Debus fired another bet, 8,000 this time. Judah mucked his hand and he's now at 145,000 chips. Debus increased his stack to 135,000.

Shaun F****** Deeb

We picked up the action on the flop, heads-up between Shaun Deeb and Sabri Thomas Alenius. There was about 10,000 already in the pot, and the board showed {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. Alenius checked, and Deeb fired 5,700 chips at the pot. His opponent then stuck in a check-raise to 16,500, and Deeb spent some time in the tank.

After about two minutes, he quietly announced, "All in," and slid a covering tower of chips across the line. Alenius counted down his stack and stared at the pot before committing his final ~75,000 chips to the hand, all in and at risk.

Showdown
Deeb: {A-Spades} {4-Spades}
Alenius: {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

Deeb's bottom pair was ahead, but he was pretty much flipping against Alenius' overcards and flush draw. The {A-Hearts} on the turn was a good card for Deeb as it killed the ace of clubs as an out for Alenius. The river was black, but it was the {2-Spades}, and Deeb's two pair earned him another nice pot.

The young American pro is on a big surge over the last two levels. He's moved his stack up to about 215,000 now, leaving Sabri Thomas Alenius floundering in his wake.

Gurtoyov Leading

Carter Phillips raised to 4,200 before Anatoly Gurtovoy called on the button. Lithuanian Domantas Klimciauskas also called out of the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {6-Clubs} and Klimciauskas checked. Phillips fired 8,000 and only Gurtoyov came along to the turn. The turn saw the {3-Hearts} hit the felt. Phillips fired 16,500 and Gurtoyov splashed in a raise to 50,000. Phillips folded his hand, dropping to 170,000. Gurtoyov is up to 310,000 and looks to be the new leader of the pack.

Falling Fast

We see several more notables are now missing from their chairs. Those AWOL and presumed busted include two of the Team PokerStars Pros, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Marcin Horecki.

Scotty Nguyen appears to be another casualty of this level as he was seen pacing around the hotel lobby just a few minutes ago, baby.

Voitto Rintala is also nowhere to be found, and he's not a man who can easily go missing; he, too, has been eliminated.

The big board shows 76 players remaining, and we'll play on until the end of Level 12, or until we have 56 players left.

Sarwer Soaring

Under the gun, Antony Lellouche opened with a raise to 5,000. Around in the cutoff seat, Jeff Sarwer three-bet it up to 12,500, and small blind Jari Mähönen made one more raise to 25,800. Lellouche got the message and ducked out, sending the decision back to Sarwer.

"Oh boy!" he said with wide eyes. After double-checking the bet amount, he made the call to go heads up to the flop.

It came {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {5-Spades}. Mähönen put out a small continuation bet of 20,000, and Sarwer was having none of it. He stuck in a raise to 55,000, and Mähönen kicked his cards back to the dealer.

Canadian Jeff Sarwer is really having his way today at Table 8. He's up over 250,000 and breathing down the neck of chip leader Carter Phillips.

Brivot Takes One Off Zeeuw

Olaf De Zeeuw raised to 3,600 before Alexandre Brivot called in middle position. The flop came down {K-Spades} {8-Hearts} {6-Hearts} and Zeeuw fired a continuation bet of 6,400. Brivot called.

The turn was the {7-Spades} and Zeeuw slowed down with a check. Brivot fired 12,600. Zeeuw mucked his hand, dropping the pot and moving down to 72,000.
