Collopy - down, but not yet out of the freeroll
Collopy - down, but not yet out of the freeroll
We're not sure what he's up to, but young Jim "MrBig_Queso" Collopy has been spotted all on his lonesome on the floor of the lobby, apparently munching on paper. Perhaps he can no longer afford the rooms here, nor the super-expensive snacks from the bar. Toss him some loose change if you pass by him, won't you...

Kabrhel High Roller Bubble Boy

Get the Kabrhel out of here.
Get the Kabrhel out of here.
After losing the chip lead and most of his chips to Andreas Bauer, Kabrhel was short stacked. He got his last chips in with pocket sevens against [Removed:39]'s pocket aces. No miracles came to save Kabrhel, and he's out in seventh place on the bubble. That means he'll have to wait for another EPT event to earn more player of the year points.

Quacking Up

A double up and a new man
A double up and a new man
Kevin MacPhee made a 380,000-chip stab at the {6-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} board. Ilari Tahkokallio moved all in for a total of 5.65 million, and MacPhee snap called.

Showdown
MacPhee: {K-Clubs} {4-Clubs} for a flush draw with a gutshot
Tahkokallio: {2-Clubs} {2-Hearts} for a set of ducks

The river was the blanktastic {8-Hearts}, and Tahkokallio doubled up to 11.62 million. MacPhee is still in the lead, albeit a much smaller one now, with 16.85 million.

Potential Action Evaporates into Small Pot for Tahkokallio

The hand started off pretty excitingly, as Ilari Tahkokallio raised to 380,000 and MacPhee asked him how much he had behind. However, MapPhee just flat-called, and they saw a flop.

The media room disappointment continued as they checked down the {Q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {10-Spades} flop and {6-Spades} turn, and when Tahkokallio bet 450,000 on the {K-Spades} river, MacPhee folded.

Chop, Chop

Ilari Tahkokallio raised from the button to 360,000 and Kevin MacPhee called from the big blind. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and MacPhee checked. Tahkokallio fired 425,000 and MacPhee called.

The turn card added the {2-Diamonds} for the board. MacPhee checked again and Tahkokallio fired 680,000. MacPhee called and the pot grew to almost three million chips. Tahkokallio started the hand with about 5.5 million, so a good portion of his stack was in the middle as the river was dealt the {10-Spades}.

MacPhee checked and Tahkokallio looked like he was torn between checking or betting. Eventually, he just tapped the table and checked. Tahkokallio held the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and MacPhee held {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The two chopped it up and moved to the next hand.

Cookie Monster Crumbling

Ship this one to MacPhee
Ship this one to MacPhee
We've just seen the biggest heads up pot so far, and it's a doozie.

Flop: {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} - Kevin MacPhee bet out 160,000, and Ilari Tahkokallio called.

Turn: {Q-Spades} - MacPhee checked, and Tahkokallio tried to push him out with a 280,000 bet. Kevin called.

River: {5-Spades} - MacPhee took the lead again, betting a sizable 1.12 million. Then Tahkokallio busted out the big guns, reraising the river to 2.6 million. MacPhee looked like he didn't want to but made the call anyway. "Jack-high," said Ilari. Despite the flush and straight possibilities on the board, MacPhee's {6-?} {5-?} for two pair was good enough to scoop the giant pot.

MacPhee further extended his lead to 23 million while Tahkokallio fell to 5.3 million.
