Naujoks Looking to Defend Her Title

Sandra Naujoks won EPT Germany last year, besting a field of 617 runners to claim the €917,000 first-place prize. Although that event was held in Dortmund, she is still looking to defend her title, albeit in a different city from her home country.

Naujoks raised preflop from early position to 550 and was called in two spots. One player called in middle position and another called from the small blind. The three saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Spades} and the small blind checked to Naujoks. She fired 750 and the next player folded. The small blind called though, continuing the action to the turn.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and Naujoks fired 1,425 after her opponent checked. The player took a moment, but then mucked his hand and Naujoks won the battle, moving back up to 29,500 chips.
